Serving Up the Best Data: Understanding Current Research and Evaluating Your Own Program

SNA held a webinar about evaluating your own program and increasing participation.

Breakfast in the Classroom is a proven way to increase participation in the National School Breakfast program. Many stakeholders are interested in more details about the benefits of Breakfast in the Classroom beyond increased participation including academic performance, decreased tardiness, improved behavior, reduced visits to the nurse’s office, and improved attendance. This webinar will discuss the broad body of research that exists around breakfast consumption and two specific research studies examining breakfast in the classroom. This webinar will also help you think of ways that you can evaluate your own program including the best way to collect and report on information with limited resources.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants should be able to:

  1. Interpret the body of research that supports School Breakfast and the Breakfast in the Classroom Program.
  2. Summarize current BIC research design and outcomes.
  3. Determine ways to evaluate and report on the progress of your Breakfast in the Classroom Program.
