It may just need to be fine-tuned to fit the needs of another. Learning about the mistakes and success of our states and sharing these with other states will help us all grow as a profession.

I hope to collaborate and find strong leaders in our states that want to have a voice in the growth of our profession. I hope that I can encourage them to join in working together as an association to continue to advocate and make school foodservice the best it can be.

I hope to gain insight on the needs of each of our states and assist or provide ideas and resources to them as they continue their path in fulfilling their strategic plan. I hope to provide new and unique ways to increase interactions with their members.

Seek out a diverse group of individuals who are unsung heroes and get to know them and their story, and provide that information to the SN Magazine for articles. I would hope to start a regular piece about everyday school meal heroes, those on the front lines sharing their love and passion and showing us their superpower.

Continue to dedicate my time educating and recruiting nonmembers on the benefits of membership and helping them join. At the same time, encouraging current members to get involved in a committee or to run for a position at both the state and national level. I would do this by being a responsible, professional, empathetic, open-minded, dedicated, responsive, supportive, and welcoming leader. Encourage dialogue and conversation on how the association can best serve our members and be part of the evolution as we navigate through this pandemic and become stronger on the other side. That is the best example I can be for the members of this association.
