School Nutrition Legacy Circle

Members of the School Nutrition Association, retirees, and friends can shape the future of the school nutrition profession through provisions in their wills and other planned gifts. While these gifts may take years to come to the Foundation, these thoughtful gifts are significant and represent the person’s vision and commitment to school nutrition.

The School Nutrition Foundation has established a program, the School Nutrition Legacy Circle, to acknowledge and recognize the men and women in school nutrition who have made a provision in their plans for the Foundation. These individuals will have a broad and lasting impact on the health and well-being of America’s children.

Membership is easy. No immediate donation is necessary. You simply need to name the School Nutrition Foundation as a beneficiary in your will, retirement plan, insurance policy, donor-advised fund or family foundation. You may choose to establish a fund that will provide income for you for the rest of your lifetime. You would then complete the intent form and return it to the Foundation.

You can make your gift anonymously or, with your permission, you will be publicly acknowledged for your commitment. By recognizing you as a member of the School Nutrition Legacy Circle, the Foundation can encourage others to follow your example and to consider making similar gifts.

Planned gifts are essential to the long-term financial stability of the School Nutrition Foundation and its commitment to providing education, research, and scholarships to assist the school nutrition professionals of tomorrow.

Planned gifts are the ultimate expression of confidence in the School Nutrition Association. Members of the School Nutrition Legacy Circle are providing a legacy for the future generations of school nutrition professionals who will continue to make healthy eating an essential component of the school day in America.

The members of School Nutrition Legacy Circle are united by the shared vision of providing food to children to offer students optimal health, well-being and academic success.

Membership offers you a variety of benefits:

  • Recognition, if desired, on the School Nutrition Foundation website and in publications, such as the School Nutrition magazine.
  • Recognition at conferences and meetings with a special ribbon for your name badge and acknowledgement at specific general sessions.
  • Invitations to special recognition events to welcome new members to the School Legacy Circle from time to time.
  • Opportunity to share your story with others who care about school nutrition as you do.
  • Customized updates on your specific areas of interest.
  • Communication from the School Nutrition Foundation on a regular basis, including the Foundation newsletter.

Charter Membership

  • A charter member is an individual that becomes one of the founding members of the School Nutrition Legacy Circle. Charter members are those who help to establish the program, who set the example for others, and who inspire others to consider becoming a member.
