National Leadership Conference 2019

May 9-11, 2019
Sarasota, Fla.

The National Leadership Conference (NLC) provides current and future state and national leaders the opportunity to learn critical information about successfully leading a nonprofit association, to network with other leaders from across the country, and to gain new skills to become a more effective and engaging leader.

SNA encourages state affiliates to send incoming Presidents, Presidents-Elect, and Vice-Presidents for the 2019-20 term, along with State Association Executives, to this event. The state association is also welcome to send any other interested state board members, such as the Membership Chair, Conference Chair or Secretary/Treasurer.

Invitations to this event will be emailed directly to state leaders in early 2019, along with registration forms and more event information.

SNA Future Leaders Program

Held in conjunction with the National Leadership Conference (NLC), the SNA Future Leaders Program provides hands-on training and focuses on the development of future leaders for state affiliates. Future Leaders are given the opportunity to network with other emerging SNA stars – or promising leadership talent from across the country, hone their leadership and communication skills, and learn from seasoned SNA leaders in a fun and interactive learning environment.

Nominations

Each state affiliate may nominate one individual to this program. Seating is limited this year due to the room size. We will accept names for a waiting list in the event some states choose not to send someone this year. An email will be sent on March 1 if additional attendees can be accommodated. Nominations will be accepted on a first come basis and will stay open until full or until the cutoff date of March 15. Nominees must be:

  • Current SNA national and state association members
  • Currently hold a SNA Certificate in School Nutrition or the SNS Credential
  • Not currently serving on a state affiliate’s Board of Directors

Please note the program is designed for those members with potential leadership talent thinking about pursuing state leadership opportunities. Those members will have first priority and will get the most benefit from the program. It is not designed for those members already serving on a state board who likely have had some form of leadership & association management training and BOD orientation training.
