Update on Filling SNA’s 2019-20 President Vacancy 2019-06-11Following the resignation of SNA’s President-elect, the Association is addressing the vacancy in the SNA 2019-20 President position in accordance with SNA’s Bylaws. On Monday, June 10th, SNA’s Leadership Development Committee (LDC) voted unanimously to recommend that current SNA President Gay Anderson, SNS, be considered for appointment by the Delegate Assembly to fill the vacancy. The committee’s decision followed consultation with SNA’s Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer, Legal Counsel and Parliamentarian. The recommendation will be brought forth to the Delegate Assembly for a vote to approve the vacancy appointment. SNA members will be notified of the outcome next week. Under SNA’s Bylaws, the Vice President succeeds the President-elect; however, there is currently no Vice President position on the SNA Board (this position was recently reinstated by the Delegate Assembly). In the absence of a Vice President, the Bylaws direct the LDC to prepare candidate recommendations for consideration and a vote by the Delegate Assembly. Should the Delegate Assembly vote to approve the LDC’s recommendation, Gay Anderson will fill the vacancy and serve as SNA President until July 2020. SNA’s 2019-20 President-elect, Reginald Ross, SNS, and Vice President, Beth Wallace, MBA, SNS, will serve their full terms in office, contributing to the Association within the timeline and succession plan they were elected to serve.
