Tell Others About Giving Tuesday

2016-11-15

Two weeks to go. Giving Tuesday, which is the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, will take place this year on November 29th. How can you celebrate Giving Tuesday?

  1. First, plan to make a gift online in support of the School Nutrition Foundation (SNF).

  2. Second, start thinking today of five people that you can approach on Giving Tuesday. Tell these individuals on the day of the event about the importance of giving back and how it’s a wonderful occasion to support school nutrition professionals by supporting the Foundation. You can use SNF’s 7 reasons to donate infographic to explain why an online gift to the Foundation makes a difference. Do not limit yourself to others in school nutrition. Consider teachers, administrators, parents and others who have an interest in school nutrition.

  3. Encourage these individuals to take an “UNselfie” with a Giving Tuesday banner stating why they support SNF... or, better yet, take a group unselfie! Share your unselfie on social media and challenge others to give back. You can also share your photo with SNF by emailing it to SNF Director of Development Janet Hedrick at jhedrick@schoolnutrition.org. Your unselfie might just be featured on the SNF Facebook page on Giving Tuesday.

New this year! To encourage participation on Giving Tuesday and support of the Foundation, AccuTemp and its employees will donate $20 for every new donor who makes a contribution on Giving Tuesday. If you have not made a contribution in 2014 or 2015, and make a contribution of $10 or more on Giving Tuesday, November 29, your gift will mean an additional $20 for the Foundation!

Mark your calendar now for Tuesday, November 29, and plan to make a difference!
