Mark Your Calendar for Giving Tuesday 2016

Donate to the School Nutrition Foundation on Giving Tuesday 2016

In six weeks, the School Nutrition Foundation will join with nonprofit organizations across the globe in celebrating Giving Tuesday. As you probably know, the days after Thanksgiving are marked for shopping and buying with Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. In 2013, a group in New York established the Tuesday after Thanksgiving as Giving Tuesday to celebrate philanthropy and to encourage giving back. Each year, Giving Tuesday has several hallmarks: online giving is encouraged; social media is used to promote the day of giving; and individuals who participate are encouraged to pose for “unselfies” (“selfies” with a twist), holding up a sign indicating the cause they support and why.

The Foundation began its efforts for Giving Tuesday in 2014 and will continue to promote contributions this year on Giving Tuesday, November 29, 2016. Once again, the Foundation will encourage SNA members to make contributions to benefit the 2016 Annual Fund.

New this year! To encourage participation on Giving Tuesday and support of the Foundation, AccuTemp and its employees will donate $20 for every new donor who makes a contribution on Giving Tuesday. If you have not made a contribution in 2014 or 2015, and make a contribution of $10 or more on Giving Tuesday, November 29, your gift will mean an additional $20 for the Foundation!

Mark your calendar now for Tuesday, November 29, and plan to make a contribution to the 2016 Annual Fund. To make your donation, visit
