Jeff Denton, director of child nutrition programs for Ponca City (Okla.) Public Schools, was recently honored by the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA) as the 2016 Silver Plate Award winner in the Elementary & Secondary Schools category. Denton was given the award at the Gold & Silver Plate Celebration, held in conjunction with the National Restaurant Association Show, on May 21, 2016, in Chicago. The prestigious Silver Plate Award recognizes achievements in foodservice management, marketing, human resources and industry and civic participation.

When asked by IFMA what it means to him to be awarded the Silver Plate, Denton responded: “Being named the Silver Plate winner for K-12 inspires me to continue to strive for excellence and build future leaders in CNP. The importance of steering young professionals to have a passion and love for serving children is more important than it has ever been.”
