Introduction of HR 5003 marks the next major step in the child nutrition reauthorization process. The House Committee on Education and the Workforce is likely to schedule a markup of the bill in soon. Once approved by the committee, the bill will need to be considered by the full House. The Senate reauthorization bill, approved by committee in January, awaits full Senate consideration. SNA will continue to keep members apprised of developments as the process moves forward.
