Texas Congressman Introduces Bill Prohibiting Federal Enforcement of School Meal Regulations

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R) of Texas recently introduced  H.R. 5597, the ‘‘EDIBLE Act,” or the ‘Eliminate Dogmatic Interference by Bureaucratic Lunch Extremists Act.” The bill, which currently has 14 co-sponsors, would prevent the federal government from making any food mandates or requirements for schools that are not completely paid for with federal funds.
