SNA Programs Retiring: Tray Talk & Trainer Certificate

As part of its new strategic plan, SNA has identified specific goals to advance the quality of school meal programs nationwide – via expanded education offerings for members and advocacy efforts at the federal and state level.

This plan was developed after SNA’s leadership assessed the Association’s programs and services in terms of use and effectiveness in an effort to provide members with the most relevant benefits, as well as to reallocating resources to enhance education and advocacy initiatives.

As part of this transition, some of SNA’s programs are being phased out in 2015, including the Trainer Certificate in School Nutrition Program and Tray Talk, SNA’s website for parents to get the facts about school meals.

SNA is no longer accepting new trainers or renewing any existing trainers when their maintenance periods expires. However; NFSMI has a robust Trainer program that’s a strong alternative to SNA’s Trainer Certificate Program. More information is available on the NFSMI website

In addition, the website will no longer be a live online resource. However, parents can still find updated information and facts about school meals via the SNA website, at Please note, will automatically redirect to this page. If your district has any Tray Talk-branded web banners, resources, or links from your website, they will automatically redirect to SNA has brand-new downloadable banner ads you can use to replace your Tray Talk ad. To access them, click here.

Tray Talk will live on via the Facebook page, where parents can get the latest on trends and facts about school nutrition.
