SNA Past President Wins IFMA Silver Plate Award


The International Foodservice Manufacturers Association recently announced the awardees of its 2015 Silver Plates Award. Taking the top prize in the Elementary and School Schools category is SNA Past President Mary Hill, SNS, executive director of Food Services, Jackson (Miss.) Public Schools.

Hill, who led SNA in 2007-08, was nominated by Schwan’s for her accomplishments within Jackson Public Schools. “We believe we have the chance to set the stage for the type of a day a child will in school,” Hill said. In addition to her work with SNA and SNF, Hill has played a key role by serving on several task forces and committees concern obesity, physical fitness and healthy eating in Mississippi.

Hill notes that the IFMA Silver Plate award is as meaningful to her as a lifetime achievement award. “As a person who is blessed to have a career doing what she loves … my sincere thanks to the jury for selecting me.” Hill and other award-winners will be celebrated at the IFMA 61st Annual Gold & Silver Plate Celebration in Chicago on May 18, 2015.
