SNA Past President Mary Hill Receives IFMA Silver Plate Award

Mary A. Hill, an SNA past president and executive director of foodservices, Jackson (Miss.) Public Schools, recently accepted a prestigious Silver Plate Award in the Elementary and Secondary Schools category. Hill was given the award at the Gold & Silver Plate Celebration, held in conjunction with the National Restaurant Association Show, on May 18, 2015, in Chicago. The distinguished award recognizes achievements in foodservice management, marketing, human resources and industry/civic participation.

Hill served as the Association’s president in 2007-08, and she has been an active participant on many national and state taskforces and advisory committees addressing obesity, healthy eating and physical fitness. She’s worked in school foodservice for 32 years. Hill was nominated by Schwan’s Food Service.
