SNA Now Accepting Scholarship and Grant Applications


Online applications are now being accepted for Professional Development Scholarships and the Winston Equipment Grant.

The Professional Development Scholarships provide SNA members with funding for tuition and books for the following school year. Over $30,000 is available in scholarship funding. Scholarships include:

  • Schwan’s Food Service Scholarship
  • SNF Professional Growth Scholarship
  • Sandi Brooker Scholarship
  • Nancy Curry Scholarship

To apply, you must be an active SNA member for at least one year (as of January 1, 2016); be currently employed in school foodservice; be enrolled (or will be enrolled) in a degree program at a vocational/technical, undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate level in the United States; and be enrolled (or will be enrolled) in a program of study which falls into one or more of the SNA Keys to Excellence subject areas. The Winston Equipment Grant will award 10 pieces of equipment to one winning school district, provided by Winston Industries. To apply, you must be an active SNA director-level member for at least one year and be the person responsible for directing the school nutrition program. Online applications is now open but only the first 50 applications will be accepted. The SNF has received 50 applications for the Winston Grant and is no longer accepting applications for 2015-16. Please check back in Fall 2016 for future opportunities.
