The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recently announced the outcome of its 2016 national election and SNA is pleased to report that long-time member, Donna Martin, EdS, RD, LD, SNS, has been selected to serve as president-elect of their Board of Directors. Martin will serve a three-year term, including a year as president of the Academy. She is currently serving as past treasurer on the Academy’s 2015-16 Board of Directors.

Martin is director of the school nutrition program for Burke County Public Schools in Waynesboro, Ga. She has been active in SNA for many years, including serving on the Certificate & Credentialing Governing Council, Strategic Realignment Planning Committee and the Meal Pattern Task Force. Martin also just completed a three-year term on the School Nutrition Foundation’s Board of Directors.

“SNA is tremendously proud to have Donna Martin take up this prestigious position at one of our most valued allied organizations,” said SNA Chief Executive Officer Patricia Montague, CAE. “Donna’s election by her fellow Academy members speaks volumes about the growing awareness of the expert professionals who lead America’s K-12 school meal programs. We extend our congratulations to Donna and look forward to working closely and collaboratively with her and the rest of the Academy leadership over the next three years.”
