SNA Attends Partners Summit on Team Up for School Nutrition Success Pilot Program

2014-11-19

The National Food Service Management Institute (NFSMI) recently hosted a Partners Summit for the pilot program, “Team Up for School Nutrition Success.” Attending on behalf of the Association were SNA President Julia Bauscher, SNS, and Education Committee Chair Gay Anderson, SNS. This summit served as a training workshop for the pilot program participants, including 53 school district participants and 27 mentors from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Southeast region. SNA was invited to attend to provide assistance to USDA and other partner organizations.

The “Team Up for School Nutrition Success” pilot program, which officially launched last week, will be run by NFSMI. The program is aimed at providing technical assistance and peer-to-peer mentoring for school nutrition programs in need of additional support. After the pilot program concludes, the results and lessons learned will be utilized for further expansion of the ”Team Up for School Nutrition Success” initiative.
