SNA Announces Vice President Candidate for 2014 Election

2014-09-17

The SNA Nominating Committee is pleased to announce that Lynn Harvey, SNS, Chief of School Nutrition Services, North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, has been selected as a candidate for the 2014 election ballot. Harvey joins Wendy Weyer, SNS, Director of Nutrition Services, Seattle School District, in running for the office of Vice President. This announcement follows the resignation last week of Johnathan Dickl from the ballot and from his position as Southeast Regional Director on the Board.

Yesterday, the Nominating Committee held a conference call to discuss the replacement for the ballot. The committee reviewed the qualifications of all the eligible Vice President candidates that were interviewed this past July at ANC before selecting Harvey. The Board does not need to approve this action. Harvey looks forward to the opportunity to run and SNA will be working with her to help her catch up.

The Board has also approved the Nominating Committee’s recommendation that Melissa Livesay, Supervisor, Franklin County School District, Tenn., resume the responsibilities of the Southeast Regional Director. In accordance with the SNA Bylaws, the Nominating Committee first considers the candidate who ran against the Board member who resigned. Livesay ran against Dickl in 2012 and she will serve out the remaining year of his two year term. We are busy getting Livesay oriented and up to speed as a new Board member. She is excited to have this opportunity and looks forward to her first Board meeting in October.
