SNA Announces Change to the Board of Directors

2014-11-13

Last week, SNA received word from Teresa Stevenson, the SN Employee/Manager Representative on the Board of Directors, that she had accepted a position with the Georgia Department of Education’s School Nutrition division. Per SNA’s Bylaws, if there is a change in the professional status of a Board member, the Board member may complete their term of office provided that one year of the term has been completed. Stevenson had only been in office since July and because she is no longer a SN Employee/Manager member she can no longer serve as the representative of this membership section on the Board.

The SNA Bylaws state that in the case of a resignation, the Board shall fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term, giving first consideration to other candidates who were on the ballot for that office at the time of election. Roxanne Knops from White Bear Lake School District in Minnesota was the other candidate on the ballot last fall for the SN Employee/Manager Representative position. The Nominating Committee recommended and the Board approved her appointment effective immediately.

SNA welcomes Knops to the Board and wishes Stevenson the best in her new position.
