Register for a Free Bonus Session at SNIC in San Diego!

2015-11-23

It's hard to believe, but SNA’s 2016 School Nutrition Industry Conference (SNIC) in San Diego is less than two months away! If you’re already registered and counting down the days, be sure to check out the two free bonus sessions that are now available to you on Saturday, January 16, 2016, a day before the conference begins:

Business Ethics: From Theory to Practice
1:00 pm-4:00 pm
Ethics has become an all-consuming staple of modern life. We live in a culture that is sliding toward zero tolerance of ethical violations of any type. Wendy Patrick, a renowned speaker on the subject, will discuss business ethics theories and concepts in this bonus session for all SNIC attendees. In this interactive session, Wendy will outline different ethical theories and help you determine the ethical lens you use to problem solve on and off the job.

In addition, school nutrition industry consultant, Barry Sackin, will review the prescriptive regulations which govern procurement for school foodservice, which will give you an understanding of the rules that help buyers avoid costly pitfalls.

USDA Foods – Reaching Out to Stakeholders for Solutions
1:00 pm-2:30 pm
Are you a stakeholder in the USDA Foods process? Do you have opinions how the USDA Foods process could be improved? Would you like to know more about the USDA Foods Business Management Improvement initiative? Join Dave Tuckwiller, Commodity Procurement Division Director, Agricultural Marketing Service at USDA for answers to these questions and to learn more about the “farm-to-fork” USDA Foods process. Come prepared to provide feedback about challenges and help brainstorm solutions!

If you are interested in attending a bonus session and did not make your selection on your registration form, please email us at meetings@schoolnutrition.org to secure a spot. Please indicate which bonus session you are interested in attending.

If you haven’t yet registered for SNIC, this is your last opportunity to take advantage of the Regular Rate registration deadline. SNA will only accept registrations at the Regular Rate until Friday, December 4th. To register or learn more about the conference, visit www.schoolnutrition.org/SNIC.
