Proposed Rule on Distribution and Control of USDA Donated Foods

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service has proposed a rule to revise and clarify requirements to ensure that USDA donated foods are distributed, stored, and managed in the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective manner. The rule is also intended to reduce administrative and reporting requirements for State distributing agencies and clarify regulatory provisions relating to accountability for donated foods. This proposed rule is open for comments until January 20, 2015.
