House Appropriations Committee Chair Introduces Short Term Spending Bill

On September 18, both the House and Senate passed the Continuing Resolution extending funding through December 11.

Chairman Hal Rogers of the House Appropriations Committee has introduced a short term continuing resolution (CR) bill to keep the U.S. Government running past the end of the fiscal year (September 31) and through December 11, 2014. CR bills are required when any of the appropriations bills have not become law to ensure funding for the government. In short, the CR extends funding for operations for all federal agencies, programs and services until December 11, 2014.

The Continuing Resolution action means that the House waiver language for school nutrition programs which is included in the FY 15 Agriculture Appropriations legislation is further delayed.

It is expected that the Senate will introduce a similar CR bill in the near future. For more information, click here.
