Deadline for Comments on the CACFP Proposed Rule Fast Approaching!

As you may know, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently released the proposed rule, “Child and Adult Care Food Program: Meal Pattern Revisions Related to the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.” The public comment period closes on April 15 and SNA encourages its members to submit their thoughts on the proposed changes to this important program. The SNA comments will be shared with the entire membership after review and sign-off by the SNA Board.

It is important for USDA to hear from school nutrition professionals and operators of CACFP to gauge the possible impact of the proposed regulation changes. The rule, as well as helpful summary charts, can be found on the USDA website. To submit your own comments, please visit the Federal Register site.
