Seven Reasons to Donate on Giving Tuesday

2016-11-22

In two days, we celebrate Thanksgiving, a day to give thanks for the blessings that we have been given. In one week, we celebrate Giving Tuesday, a day to express our gratitude by giving back.

On Giving Tuesday in 2015, the School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) had a total of 41 donations and raised $6,400 toward the Annual Fund. This year’s Giving Tuesday goal is $8,000 and 60 donors. The SNF Annual Fund provides SNA members with financial support for education and professional development, as well as supports school nutrition research and scholarship offerings.

What can YOU do to help feed the nation’s children and support school nutrition professionals nationwide? You can consider making an online donation on November 29, 2016. With your help, we will surpass our Giving Tuesday goals and kickoff a year-end campaign that tops 2015 by a significant margin.

Need more reason to donate to SNF on Giving Tuesday? We’ll give you seven! One for each day leading up to Giving Tuesday next week!

#7: Learning to eat HEALTHY foods begins at school
#6: RESEARCH in school nutrition establishes “best practices”
#5: Scholarships: SNA members BUILD & EXPAND strong SN programs
#4: HEALTHY EATING at school: aids in diabetes and other disease PREVENTION
#3: For every NEW donor, SNF receives $20 from ACCUTEMP
#2: Well-nourished children are ready to SUCCEED in school
#1: For many, school meals provide the BEST, if not the only, NOURISHMENT of the day
