Annual Fund: SNF Awards Seven States Dollars Back for State Scholarships

School Nutrition Foundation

As part of the 2016 Annual Fund campaign, the School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) included an incentive for states to encourage participation. Any state that achieved 3% or higher participation, the Foundation made the commitment to make a percentage of the dollars given by that state available for state scholarships. The money could be allocated by the state for state conferences or other professional development opportunities for the members in that state.

Seven states exceeded 3% participation in the 2016 Annual Fund and have been notified of their achievement. The following states will receive dollars back for state scholarships:

  • Those with more than 5% participation will have 25% of the dollars that the state contributed available for scholarships. (3 states):
    • Kansas
    • Illinois
    • New York
  • Those with more than 3% but less than 5% will have 20% available for scholarships. (4 states):
    • West Virginia
    • Colorado
    • California
    • Michigan

The Annual Fund grew from $27,647 to $47,896. The total amount that the Foundation is giving back to the states is $3,519.
