The Governing Council operates autonomously from the SNA Board of Directors to ensure program integrity for the SNA Certificate and Credentialing professional development programs. This means they are an independent and separate body, and any decision they make, including the results of an exam appeal, cannot be overruled by the Board or Staff. The Chair and new members of the Governing Council are elected by existing Governing Council members. To serve on the Governing Council, members must sign a consent form adhering to the confidentiality policy. SNA takes pride in this example of best practices for membership organizations with certificate/credentialing programs.

These hard-working volunteers along with the Exam Working Group help ensure that SNA’s Certificate and Credentialing Programs are regularly updated to reflect current practices and professional standards requirements in school nutrition. We thank them for their service to SNA.
