Josephine Martin National Policy Fellow

The Josephine Martin National Policy Fellow will attend and be recognized at SNA’s Legislative Action Conference 2018, with all travel expenses paid up to $3,000. Expenses include airfare, ground transportation, and hotel accommodations, as well as conference registration and a per diem for meals.

Who can apply?
To apply, you must:

  • Be an active SNA employee or manager section member, who has been a SNA member for at least three years, as of LAC 2018 (since no later than April 1, 2015)
  • Have never previously attended LAC
  • Be interested in child nutrition policy

Please note that director-level members are not eligible for this fellowship.

How can I apply?
SNF is no longer accepting applications for the 2017 Josephine Martin National Policy Fellow. The 2017 Fellow will be announced in January 2017. The 2018 application will open in Fall 2017.

The 2018 Fellow will be announced in January 2018. The 2018 application will open September 14th, 2017 on SmarterSelect. You can access the application here 

Who is Josephine Martin?
Dr. Josephine Martin is a pioneer in the field of child nutrition. Launching her career at the Georgia Department of Education in 1950 as the assistant school lunch director, she soon became a vocal advocate for child nutrition, influencing legislation on the community, state and federal levels.
