Part 1: Relationship Building with Lawmakers and Why it’s Important
Building relationships with elected officials can sometimes be difficult and uncomfortable. This presentation will help LAC attendees overcome that discomfort, revealing the methods and benefits for building relationships with elected officials. Participants will learn to whom Congress and state legislators listen; what congressional staffers believe are the most effective communications tactics for influencing undecided Members of Congress; how to conduct effective in-person meetings; ways to influence legislators at town hall meetings; as well as strategies for effective advocacy in the state/district.

Part 2: Presentation of the SNA 2016 Position Paper and Charge to the Hill!
