ANC 2013: What’s the Value?

 Permanent link

This Friday, May 31st, is the deadline for the regular rate registration discount to attend SNA’s 2013 Annual National Conference (ANC) in Kansas City, Mo. If you haven't registered yet, what are you waiting for?! If you’re still convincing your supervisor that sending you to ANC is a worthwhile investment—or if you’re still trying to convince yourself—here are just a few reasons, as explained by ANC staff and past attendees, why the conference is a sound value:

  • The Exhibit Hall: Here, you can find the perfect product that saves money for your operation. At last year’s ANC, an Ohio SNA member found just the right product that saved her 3 cents per serving – and that alone was worth the cost of attending.
  • Certification credits: Earning Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Key Area hours means you’re one step closer to moving up a level in certification—and achieving a higher certification not only open doors for the member, but also reflects well on the school and district.
  • Education sessions: If there’s a way to improve the efficiency, management or overall well-being of your school nutrition operation, you’ll learn about it in one of the 90+ education sessions scheduled for ANC. In the end, these improvements will translate to cost and time savings for the school.
  • Renewed enthusiasm: A happy, enthusiastic worker is a productive employee! ANC is all about meeting new people, sharing ideas and reaffirming the stance that child nutrition is a vital profession.

The breadth of education sessions, the respect of vendors, the networking—it all helps to remind you that you are an expert in a complex business and there is so much potential to grow and improve in this career. To register for ANC 2013 today, visit www.schoolnutrition.org/anc. Register before May 31st to enjoy savings over the onsite registration rate, which kicks in June 1st!
