PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON TO ADDRESS SCHOOL NUTRITION PROFESSIONALS
National Harbor, Md., February 28, 2011 – On Monday, March 7, 2011 at 4:00 pm, Former President Bill Clinton, founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation, will address hundreds of school nutrition professionals from across the nation as part of the School Nutrition Association’s (SNA) 39th annual Legislative Action Conference (LAC). LAC will be held at the JW Marriott Hotel, 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington DC.
In 2005, the William J. Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association founded the Alliance for a Healthier Generation to reduce the prevalence of childhood obesity by 2015. The Alliance’s Healthy Schools Program supports more than 10,000 schools across the U.S. in their efforts to create environments where physical activity and healthy eating are accessible and encouraged. Recognizing that school meals are one of the clearest avenues to positively impact the health and nutrition of America’s youth, the Alliance brokers voluntary agreements with school meal manufacturers and distributors to make healthier school meal options less expensive and easier to identify.
SNA’s Legislative Action Conference runs from March 6-9, 2011 and will feature several other notable speakers. Click here for further details on the conference.
