RAIN: A Tribute to The Beatles

 

Step back in time to the Sixties and Seventies!
Wednesday, July 13

This stunning concert event takes you back in time with the legendary foursome delivering a note-for-note theatrical event that is the next best thing to the Beatles.

A live multi-media spectacular that takes you on a musical journey through the life and times of the world’s most celebrated band. RAIN adds even more hits that you know and love from the vast anthology of Beatles classics, such as “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” “Hard Day’s Night,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “Let It Be,” “Come Together” and “Hey Jude.”

Be sure to pack your “retro best” outfit for this special step back in time.

First-Timers Session
Sunday, July 10

Is this your first time attending ANC? If so, this information-gathering session will guide you in the right direction in order to make the most out of the conference. Join the ANC 2016 Program Chairs, Mark Chavez and Jeremy West, SNS as they provide a rundown of the highlights and events to participate in this year. Get your who, what, when, where and whys answered for ANC!

SNA Red Carpet Awards Ceremony
Sunday, July 10

Celebrate the outstanding contributions SNA members make every day at the annual SNA Red Carpet Awards Ceremony, where state, regional and national award winners will be recognized by the Association and their peers. The prestigious honors given during this ceremony include the Employee, Manager and Director of the Year Awards, as well as State Association Membership and Professional Development Awards. SNA will also recognize the Industry Member of the Year.

New Connections Reception
Sunday, July 10

ANC is all about networking! At this special event, new school nutrition directors (three years or less), SNA Future Leaders Program alumni and ANC First Timer Scholarship recipients, come together to make new connections. Participants are welcome to bring a friend to this invitation-only networking event.

STEPS Challenge Wellness Activity
Monday, July 11

ANC is always an exciting and jam-packed few days of learning, networking and connecting. It might be hard to make time for yourself to exercise, so be sure to join us for the STEPS Challenge Wellness Event on Monday morning at 6:45 am in the Convention Center.

Star Club Breakfast
Monday, July 11

The SNA Star Club is a program for recognizing and thanking members who are working hard to ensure the future of the Association by recruiting new members. This is an invitation-only event and Star Club members must RSVP to attend.

State Delegation Photos
Monday, July 11–Wednesday, July 13

Take advantage of so many state members being in one place by gathering together your members for a state delegation photo at ANC. Photos will be taken in room 205 in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. To view the schedule to determine when your state should gather for its picture, click here. The schedule will also be included in the ANC on the Go mobile app under “General Information.” Photos will be available for sale. Look for the purchasing details onsite.

Targeted Learning Opportunities

Chapter Leadership Day
Saturday, July 9

It’s a new year, and chapter leaders are looking for fresh ideas to invigorate local groups. If you’re an SNA chapter leader, don’t miss this event on Saturday, July 9, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, featuring topics such as developing a strong leadership team, planning effective meetings, innovative fundraising efforts building membership and more. Registration is required. Please indicate you plans to attend when registering for the conference. The cost is $25, which includes breakfast.

School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) Credentialing Exam
Saturday, July 9
 
The latest SNS exam will be available at ANC on Saturday, July 9, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Registration, approval and payment must be made in advance and cannot be done onsite. To learn if you qualify to sit for the exam, click here for more details. To register, contact SNA at (800) 877-8822, or certsns@schoolnutrition.org. The registration deadline is June 20, 2016.

School Nutrition Research & Best Practices Showcase
Monday, July 11–Tuesday, July 12

The Showcase is the place to learn about recent research and best practices in school nutrition. Discover what sort of interesting ideas, techniques and tactics are being applied in school and districts nationwide. Take advantage of time to stroll through and review the posters, as well as dedicated time to speak with the posters’ authors to learn more about their research.

Membership Section Meetings
