Beans, Beans, The Musical Fruit? What About Gas?

Some people avoid beans because of gas. Fortunately, you can reduce the gas causing raffinose, a natural sugar in beans, and other compounds with careful rinsing. Rinse canned beans thoroughly before serving. Use the Hot Soak method of cooking click here —which reduces overall cooking time, produces tender beans consistently and removes many of the flatulence causing compounds. Research also shows that eating beans regularly—at least once or twice a week—allows your system to adjust and will reduce flatulence.
