Celebration of School Nutrition Heroes

The 50th Anniversary Celebration was so successful and received such wonderful accolades that SNF is planning to have an event in 2015 to once again honor School Nutrition Heroes and to secure funding for the Foundation. The event will be held on March 2, 2015, during the Legislative Action Conference (LAC) in Washington, D.C.

Please consider nominating a School Nutrition Hero for recognition in 2015. To secure a nomination form, click here.

The level of sponsorship of the 2015 Celebration of School Nutrition Heroes will determine in large part the net revenue from the event that can be used for education, research, and scholarships for SNA members in the coming year.

Only five top spots are available for sponsors—one premier sponsor and four benefactors. These five sponsors will escort the five School Nutrition Heroes into the ballroom that evening and will receive maximum visibility from the event.

Sign up soon! These top spots will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Don’t miss this opportunity!

50th Anniversary Celebration

The School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) celebrated its achievement of a significant milestone in 2014—its 50th anniversary.

To honor 50 years of investing in the school nutrition profession, the School Nutrition Foundation held its 50th Anniversary Celebration of School Nutrition Heroes on March 3, 2014, in conjunction with SNA's annual Legislative Action Conference in Washington, D.C.

The evening was a big success with over 280 attendees and net revenue of over $100,000, which will be used to continue the work of the Foundation.

During the evening, SNF honored five School Nutrition Heroes:

  • Dorothy Caldwell , SNA Past President (1993-94), SNF President (1994-95), Director of Child Nutrition (Retired), Arkansas Department of Education, Deputy Administrator for Special Nutrition Programs (Retired), U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food, Nutrition and Consumer Services
  • Margo Frazier , Supervisor of Operations, Sheldon (Texas) Independent School District
  • Sandi Kramer , Nutrition Director, Yankton (S.D.) School District
  • Joanne Terry , Administrative Assistant, Charlotte County (Fla.) Public Schools
  • Karen Watson , CNP Manager, Sylacauga High School, Sylacauga City (Ala.) Schools

The Celebration generated revenue in large part as a result of the sponsors of the evening's event. To view the list of sponsors, click here.
