The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) posted notice of a prize competition for the creation of an open source electronic school meal application that states and school districts can adapt for their own use. The winning school meal application will contain a minimum FNS-defined package of design features that target applicant error and reduce applicant burden.

Submissions are due by March 1, 2016, at 5:00 pm EDT.
