District of the Year Award

The District of the Year Award formally recognizes one outstanding school nutrition program that meets the Keys to Excellence best practice standards and demonstrates extraordinary commitment to maintaining and exceeding the best practice standards. In addition to receiving the recognition and benefits of being a District of Excellence, SNA further recognizes the District of the Year Award recipient at SNA’s Annual National Conference and through SNA national media and public relations activities.

How to Apply

http://www.schoolnutrition.org/uploadedImages_old/SchoolNutrition.org/Tools_You_Can_Use/Keys_to_Excellence/keys_purple.jpg All 2009-2010 District of Excellence Distinction recipients will be eligible to submit the District of the Year Award applications in May 2010. The District of the Year Award includes a grant award up to $25,000 to further enhance school nutrition program operations in one or more areas reflected in the Keys to Excellence national best practice standards. The District of the Year Award application is a competitive grant proposal application.

2009 District of the Year Award Goes to Lee's Summit R-7 School District!
