Credentialing - Maintaining Your Credential

Loading...

The School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) credential is good for three years and must be renewed at the end of each three year period. To be eligible for renewal, a SNS must have completed a minimum of 45 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUS) during the past three years and all annual maintenance fees must have been paid.

Documentation of the CEUs is not required unless the SNS is randomly selected to be audited. During each renewal period, SNSs are randomly selected for audit and if selected, an additional letter is sent outlining guidelines that must be followed when submitting the credentialing renewal application.

Annual Maintenance Fee

Each year an annual maintenance fee of $35 is assessed for SNS’s who are SNA Members; Non-Members pay an annual maintenance fee of $ 130. An invoice is sent on the anniversary date of the SNS’s credential. All maintenance fees must be paid by the expiration date in order for an SNS to be eligible for renewal.
