VIEW THE 2009 ELECTION RESULTS
This year, the School Nutrition Association Election will feature 28 candidates from around the country who share a common interest: a passion for child nutrition. This year, voting will be conducted online, making it easy for you to exercise your right—and responsibility—to vote for the candidates who will represent your needs and concerns.
It is critical that you take advantage of this opportunity to vote in this year’s election. By participating in the voting process, you are helping to select the leaders who will take the Association into the future in order to further the cause of child nutrition. This responsibility is significant to the Association and to the overall future of school nutrition programs nationwide.
Open Board of Directors positions in this election include Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Northeast Regional Director, Northwest Regional Director, Southwest Regional Director, Member Services Committee Chair, Nutrition Committee Chair, Research Committee Chair, School Nutrition Employee/Manager Representative and State Agency Representative. Open positions for the Nominating Committee are Representatives for the Mideast Region, Midwest Region, Southeast Region and West Region. Brief biographies of each candidate follow. Also, interviews with the candidates for Vice President will appear in the October 2009 issue of School Nutrition (SN) magazine.
How to Vote
It is imperative when voting online that you have your membership number available; this is located on your SNA membership card or on the label of your SN magazine. If you are a valid SNA member as of May 31, 2009, you are eligible to vote for the positions of vice president, secretary/treasurer and committee chairs, as well as other positions based on your membership type and geographic region. You will NOT be eligible to vote if you became a member or reinstated your membership after this date. Members in the Other or Affiliate membership category also are not eligible to vote.

Prompts will guide you through the online voting process, but to save time, please review the biographies that follow in advance and then use the Candidate Reference Guide to make your selections before logging on to vote. The “polls” will be open from October 15 to November 15, 2009.
