National Conference Scholarships SNA Annual National Conference 2016ANC First-Timer ScholarshipThe ANC First-Timer Scholarship gives SNA members who have never attended SNA’s Annual National Conference the opportunity to take advantage of the valuable educational and professional development opportunities to advance their careers at this event through providing multiple $500 scholarships—each of which may be used to cover registration and travel expenses associated with attending ANC. Who can be nominated? District directors, who are active SNA members and are registered to attend ANC 2016, may nominate one member of their staff for this scholarship. The staff member must be an active SNA member in the employee or manager category who has never attended SNA’s ANC. Directors may not nominate more than one staff member for this scholarship.How can I complete a nomination form? The SNF has closed the ANC First Timers Scholarship for 2016. Recipients will be notified by the SNF in April 2016. Awards are given on a first come, first served basis- so the sooner you apply, the better chance you have of receiving a scholarship. To be considered for this award, you must be: An active SNA member A graduate student enrolled full-time in an MS or PhD program OR a faculty member employed at an accredited college or university Accepted to participate in the School Nutrition Showcase at SNA's Annual National Conference 2016How can I apply? Please preview the form before creating an account and completing the form.SNA Legislative Action Conference 2016Josephine Martin National Policy FellowThe Josephine Martin National Policy Fellow will attend and be recognized at SNA’s Legislative Action Conference 2016, with all travel expenses paid up to $3,000. Expenses include airfare, ground transportation, and hotel accommodations, as well as conference registration and a per diem for meals. Who can apply? To apply, you must: Be an active SNA employee or manager section member, who has been a SNA member for at least three years, as of LAC 2016 (since no later than March 1, 2013) Have never previously attended LAC Be interested in child nutrition policyPlease note that director-level members are not eligible for this fellowship.How can I apply? SNF is no longer accepting applications for the 2016 Josephine Martin National Policy Fellow. The 2016 Fellow will be announced in January 2016. The application for the 2017 Fellow will open in Fall 2016. Who is Josephine Martin? Dr. Josephine Martin is a pioneer in the field of child nutrition. Launching her career at the Georgia Department of Education in 1950 as the assistant school lunch director, she soon became a vocal advocate for child nutrition, influencing legislation on the community, state and federal levels.
