National Harbor, MD (April 17, 2013) – The School Nutrition Association’s (SNA) Board of Directors has announced the selection of Patricia Montague, CAE as SNA’s new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment is effective immediately.
Montague has served SNA in various positions for the past 20 years. She has been Acting CEO for the last five months and previously served as Chief Operating Officer for 9 years.
“SNA’s Board of Directors is thrilled to welcome Patti Montague to her new role as SNA’s Chief Executive Officer,” said School Nutrition Association President Sandra Ford, SNS. “Patti has demonstrated that her experience, her skills and her commitment to SNA throughout her tenure have made her uniquely qualified to lead SNA. The Board looks forward to continuing to work with Patti to guide the Association through the changes and challenges that confront the school nutrition industry.”
SNA represents over 55,000 school nutrition professionals nationwide. The Association was founded in 1946 as the American School Food Service Association, the same year President Truman signed the National School Lunch Act. Located in Denver until 1989, the Association was moved to the Washington, DC area by the Board of Directors to enhance advocacy efforts on behalf of good nutrition and education for all school children. The name of the Association was changed to School Nutrition Association in 2004.
