September 24, 2012 – The School Nutrition Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the Josephine Martin Endowment Fund.
This endowed fund will provide funds each year for an SNA member to attend the annual Legislative Action Conference (LAC) in Washington, D.C., for the first time. LAC is the place where child nutrition professionals gather to strengthen their advocacy skills, as well as shape and define national policy relating to school nutrition.
This fund is a fitting tribute to Dr. Martin’s legacy of the more than 60 years of advocating for child nutrition programs across the country. She has been described as “one of the handful of Americans who paved the way for implementation and sustainability of the nation’s school feeding programs.”
Her passion and outstanding service to school nutrition continue to inspire school nutrition professionals and the Association.
The goal of the endowment is to raise $75,000.
