November 19, 2012 – SNA’s 2012 Fall Membership Drive was very successful, welcoming 1583 new members this fall. The membership campaign ran from August 1 to October 31, 2012.

Every year, the top recruiting states in each region are awarded with a complimentary one-year membership to the Association. The states receiving this award are as follows:

• Mideast Region: Michigan with 100 new members. West Virginia with a 17% increase in new members.
• Midwest Region: Minnesota with 58 new members. Missouri with a 6% increase in new members.
• Northeast Region: New Jersey with 25 new members. Vermont with a 17% increase in new members.
• Northwest Region: Washington with 23 new members. Idaho with a 3% increase in new members.
• Southeast Region: Georgia with 195 new members. South Carolina with a 14% increase in new members.
• Southwest Region: Oklahoma with 89 new members. Arkansas with a 4% increase in new members.
• West Region: California with 66 new members. Nevada with a 7% increase in new members.

These states will be recognized in the School Nutrition magazine and in July at the Annual National Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.

November 19, 2012 – The School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) is proud to announce that it has reached another milestone along its fundraising goal for the Josephine Martin Endowment Fund. As of November 15, 2012, SNF has passed the $15,000 mark, having raised $16,630 toward the goal of $75,000.

The Josephine Martin Endowment Fund serves as a fitting tribute to Dr. Martin’s passion for child nutrition and ensures that the voices of child nutrition professionals will continue to be heard by legislators and policy makers at the local, state and national levels. An additional aim of this Fund is to provide an SNA member the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., for the School Nutrition Association’s Legislative Action Conference (LAC) for the first time, to carry on Dr. Martin’s living legacy.
