SNA Files Comments on USDA Proposed Rule on Local Wellness Policies

April 29, 2014 - SNA has collected feedback from members in order to draft comments to best reflect the stance of the Association. As you know, USDA recently released a Proposed Rule on Local School Wellness Policy which requires all local educational agencies participating in the National School Lunch Program and/or the School Breakfast Program to meet expanded local school wellness policy requirements consistent with the new requirements set forth in the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. A summary of the bill as drafted by Barnes & Thornburg can be found on SNA’s website and more resources can be found on the USDA website. You can read SNA’s comments, here to learn more about the recommendations we put forth to improve implementation of these standards.
