SNA Announces New Keynote Speaker for ANC 2014

2014-07-07

July 7, 2014 – SNA is pleased to announce that Amy Purdy, a world-class adaptive snowboarder, actress/model and motivational speaker will kick off the Opening General Session on Sunday, July 13 at its upcoming Annual National Conference (ANC) in Boston, Massachusetts.

At 19, Purdy lost both her legs below the knee. After going through this life-altering experience, she challenged herself to move on with her life and attain goals that even those who have both legs struggle to achieve. Today, she is one of the top ranked adaptive snowboarders in the world and has won multiple World Cup medals.

Purdy’s creativity, positive outlook and her never give up attitude have opened doors to many other opportunities including being featured in numerous national and international publications and in 2012 she raced around the world on the television show The Amazing Race. Most recently, Purdy became a breakout star of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars by inspiring the judges, fellow competitors, the professional dance staff and millions of fans.

Although Purdy has numerous accomplishments, she is most proud of cofounding Adaptive Action Sports, a non-profit organization which helps those with permanent disabilities to get involved in action sports.

Purdy has evolved into a powerful and motivational speaker and is anxious to share her inspirational message with SNA’s membership at ANC.

Please note: Due to a production conflict, Viola Davis, will not appear at this year’s ANC.
