Nominate a School Nutrition Hero Today! 2014-08-19Your assistance is needed! We want you to tell us about the SNA members who go far above and beyond their daily job responsibilities in service to others. We know that in every school nutrition program across America the people involved are passionate and many are making a difference in the world around them. We need you to bring to our attention those who have done—or are currently doing—truly extraordinary things in their school, community, and/or association. Help us tell the stories of school nutrition heroes and shine a much-deserved spotlight on the extraordinary efforts of ordinary SNA members. Following are a few thoughts to get you started: Someone who is making or has made a difference in the lives of students and families. Someone who is applying or has applied their skills in their local community to help feed others. Someone who is or was instrumental to the success of a specific cause or important event. Someone who is making or has made a difference in the lives of coworkers, employees and peers in school nutrition. Someone who is using or has used knowledge, skills and abilities they acquired through participation and involvement in SNA and School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) programs and initiatives to benefit others in their school, school district, and/or community and beyond. Five school nutrition heroes will be selected to recognize at the Celebration of School Nutrition Heroes on Monday, March 2, 2015, in Washington, D.C., during the annual Legislative Action Conference (LAC). Please tell us about the School Nutrition Hero that you feel should be recognized in 2015. The deadline for nominations has been extended to Friday, October 3, 2014.
